Timeless on the Track.
Despite California’s reputation of historical youth, there’s no denying the global notoriety of the race track of Laguna Seca. The Cold War marked the end of an era and spurred on a mission to create a race track that would last for all time. What began as a ranch in 1867, later became home to Pebble Beach Road Races in 1950 and was quickly out grown and replaced with Laguna Seca Raceway in 1957.
Little did anyone know on that 70 degree Californian autumn day, November 9, 1957 marked the beginning of a legacy as onlookers anticipated Pete Lovely speeding down the raceway in a Ferrari 500 TR. That race set the tone of tradition for many new generations of car enthusiasts to come. Velocity Invitational along other’s, hold this torch high as they celebrate this coming October 14-16, 2022.
This year will be nothing short of astounding as iconic vintage race cars, from 1927 to 2012, create a symphony of history as they zoom by. The preservation of reliving the past is a thrill we’re counting down the days for! As the world continues to change, Garage Collective seeks to preserve our history and reason for loving everything automotive.
